Halifax Stanfield Celebrates Airport Safety Week

Halifax, N.S. – Halifax Stanfield International Airport is delighted to join 28 other airports across the country in celebrating Airport Safety Week from October 2-6, 2017.

“Safety and security are our top priorities and we take these responsibilities very seriously,” says Joyce Carter, HIAA President & CEO. “We are pleased to join our Canadian airport colleagues to recognize and bring attention to the vital importance of healthy and safe work practices. We are committed to providing a safe and secure airport and have designed our safety week activities and events to inform, engage and inspire everyone who participates.”

The Airport Safety Week schedule of activities includes a safety expo with displays and information provided by various organizations, airside safety day, a safety symbol scavenger hunt, and a foreign object debris (FOD) walk to raise awareness of the FOD hazard.

Media are invited to participate in the FOD walk on the airfield. The event takes place on Friday, October 6, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Participants will gather at Provincial Airlines, located at 647 Barnes Road.
