Halifax Stanfield Rated Among Best Airports in the World –Award to be presented at Global Summit in Halifax this September

Halifax Stanfield has once again been rated by passengers as one of the best airports in the world.

Earlier today, Airports Council International (ACI) World announced the winners of the 2017 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, and Halifax tied for the third place ranking in the Best Airport by Region (over 2 million passengers per year) category. ASQ awards are presented to airports whose passengers have rated them the highest over the course of a year, based on their demonstrated commitment to providing an excellent customer experience.

“Everyone across the Halifax Stanfield airport community should be very proud of this achievement,” says Joyce Carter, Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) President & CEO. “This is a true testament of our commitment to our unique approach to the customer experience – The Stanfield Way. Recognition of this kind is the best, as it’s from our passengers.”

What makes this award so special for Halifax Stanfield is that it will be presented at the Gala Dinner & ASQ Awards Ceremony during the ACI Customer Excellence Global Summit in Halifax this September. ACI World selected HIAA to host this inaugural event and Halifax Stanfield views it as a perfect fit given its past and continued success in ASQ on the international stage.

“It will be such an honour to accept our award in Halifax, while hosting the Global Summit at our new Halifax Convention Centre and showcasing our airport, city and province to airport officials from the best airports around the globe,” says Carter.

The ACI conference, which will run from September 10-13, will combine the traditional multiple ASQ Forums held throughout the year into one international annual ASQ Forum and Summit. It will provide the industry with a much needed platform to exchange best-practice and lessons learned on providing the airport customer experience, challenges and trends, and how ever-evolving technology impacts customer experience management. The one-day Forum and following two-day Summit will be open to ASQ subscribers as well as those airports who desire information about the ASQ program.

The event is expected to attract a large number of delegates and provide Halifax Stanfield, the city and province with international exposure and business development opportunities.
