Halifax, N.S. – Halifax Stanfield is pleased to provide a Nursing Room in the terminal for mothers who are seeking a more private and comfortable option while breastfeeding.
Located pre-security on the main level between the food court and the Artport Gallery, the Nursing Room is open 24 hours a day and offers ambient lighting, four soft-seated rocking chairs, a sink and a changing table.
“We’re proud to offer a nursing-friendly airport and we also want to provide an option to passengers who have increasingly been requesting a space with extra privacy,” says Kelly Martin, Customer Relations Manager, Halifax International Airport Authority. “The Nursing Room provides that option and is another example of our commitment to offer an exceptional customer experience through user-centric facilities and services at the region’s air gateway.”
The Nursing Room is an addition to the customer amenities in place at the airport to make passengers’ experience more convenient, comfortable and enjoyable. Halifax Stanfield welcomes nursing in public spaces at the airport, however, this space is to serve the needs of those who wish extra space, comfort and privacy.
Planning is underway for a second Nursing Room location on the departures level.
