CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS
Halifax Stanfield Social Media Contest
December 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020
CONTEST SPONSOR: The contest sponsor is the Halifax International Airport Authority (“HIAA”) (the “Contest Sponsor”).
HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY:
- To enter the Halifax Stanfield Stay Connected December Giveaway social media contest (“Contest”), Entrants with a public profile on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter must do the following: (1) create a new written or video post with a message about someone they miss because they have been kept apart by COVID-19, (2) Tag the post with the hashtag #StayConnected.
- The Contest starts at 10:00:00 a.m. Atlantic Standard Time (“AST”) on December 1, 2020 and closes on December 31, 2020 at 11:59:59 p.m. AST (the “Contest Period”). Void where prohibited.
- When the Contest closes, one winner will be chosen by combining all entries across all platforms into a program that will make a random selection.
- The Entrant whose submission is drawn will be notified by private message that their submission has been drawn. The Entrant will then have 48 hours to verify their identity and eligibility to claim the prize. If they do not do so within the 48-hour period they will be disqualified, a new submission will be chosen, and that Entrant contacted using the same mechanism described above, continuing until identify verification and eligibility is established.
To be eligible to win, Entrants must be a legal resident of Atlantic Canada and be of the age of majority in the province in which they reside. Employees and members of the board of directors of HIAA (the Contest Sponsor) (or their respective agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators) and their parents, siblings and children, and persons domiciled with any such employees, are ineligible to participate.
Entry must occur during the Contest Period by means of Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook (the “Third Party Service”). To enter the Contest by means of the Third Party Service, Entrants must have a valid account with the Third Party Service and are solely responsible to ensure that their account settings allow the Contest Sponsor or their administrators to view their account as required to administer the Contest (failing which, the Entrant will be disqualified). By creating an account with a Third Party Service, the Entrant agrees to comply with the Third Party Service’s Terms of Service. By entering this Contest by means of a Third Party Service, Entrants completely release any such Third Party Service of all liability in relation to his/her participation in the Contest. Entrants acknowledge that the Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with the Third Party Services and that any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest should be directed to Halifax International Airport Authority, 747 Bell Boulevard, Goffs, NS, B2K 1T2 and not the Third Party Service.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING SUBMISSIONS: Any text, video and photos included with Entrants’ submissions must be original and must not include any third party’s proprietary content. The Contest Sponsor in their sole and absolute discretion may: (i) disqualify any Entrant who uses third party proprietary content, at any time, (ii) edit any submission to remove or blur out any trade-marks or copyrighted content, including but not limited to, music or video clips, as applicable; and/or (iii) disqualify any submission that involves anything illegal, potentially or actually dangerous or harmful, containing any element of physical risk or otherwise determined to be inappropriate or inconsistent with these official rules and regulations (the “Rules”). Submissions must not contain any advertising or commercial references, or any reference to, or likeness of, any identifiable third parties, unless consent has been obtained from all such third parties and their parent/legal guardian if they are under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence. Submissions must not include any illegal, defamatory or obscene content. Submissions remain the property of the Entrant, however by entering the Contest, each Entrant: (i) represents and warrants that his/her submission is his or her original work and does not infringe on any third party rights, including, without limitation, copyright, trade-mark or any other intellectual property rights and is in compliance with these Rules, (ii) represents and warrants that he/she has all necessary rights from any third party that appears, or is mentioned, in the submission, including those from the parent or legal guardian if third party is under the age of majority, (iii) grants the Contest Sponsor unlimited, royalty free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, right and license to use, reproduce, post and/or broadcast the submission or any part thereof in any form of media now known or hereinafter developed; (iv) waives all moral rights in or related to the submission, and (v) consents to the publication and/or use, in any medium worldwide of the submission or any part thereof at any time or times for the purpose of administering the Contest and publicity purposes carried out by the Contest Sponsor and/or their advertising and promotional agencies without payment or compensation of any kind. Submissions may be showcased by the Contest Sponsor at their sole discretion on a public viewing gallery. The Contest Sponsor assume no responsibility for any claims against infringement of the right of privacy with respect to any submission.
PRIZE DESCRIPTION: The Prize to be awarded consists of the following:

The approximate retail value of the Prize is $495.00
The Prize has no cash surrender value and must be accepted as awarded. The Prize may not be sold or transferred and is not convertible to cash. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize in whole or in part if all or any component of the Prize is unavailable.
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible submissions received during the Contest Period.
The Prize consists only of the items noted above and the Prize winner is solely responsible for all applicable taxes, and other costs and expenses not expressly described in these Rules. Any income or other tax liability incurred in connection with the Prize is the responsibility of the Prize winner.
In order to be declared the winner, the potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by the Contest Sponsor. Before being awarded the Prize, the potential winner will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsor, a full release and indemnity form stating that, among other things, he/she has read and understood these Rules, grants all consents and confirms all matters relating to the potential winner’s submission as referenced in these Rules or required by the Contest Sponsor, agrees to be available and to participate in publicity and/or promotions related to the Contest and/or the Contest Sponsor and/or similar matters, authorizes the Contest Sponsor to broadcast, publish, disseminate and otherwise use his/her name, city/town/village and province/territory of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, and all other indicia of personality in connection with any promotion and/or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and/or information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of or participation in the Prize, accepts the Prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsor from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s participation in this Contest and receipt and use of the Prize. In the event that the potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, Contest Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify the potential winner, and conduct a draw in the manner described in these Rules for an alternate potential winner, and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.
By entering this draw the Entrants and participants automatically agree to accept and abide by these Rules. All decisions of the Contest Sponsor with respect to any aspect of this draw, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding on all Entrants in all matters as they relate to this contest.
Contest Sponsor assume no responsibility for garbled, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected submissions, postings, mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. No correspondence will be entered into except with Entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting the name of the Prize winner (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). Contest Sponsor do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials or data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsor, in their sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its control, Contest Sponsor reserve their right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest, and select a winner from previously received eligible submissions. Contest Sponsor reserve their right to modify the Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. The Contest Sponsor reserve their right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. Any attempts to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made the Contest Sponsor reserve their right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent of the law. Contest Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including any damage to an Entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this Contest or from downloading any material from the Contest website.
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade-names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Contest Sponsor and/or their affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
