For the comfort of the majority of our passengers, visitors and employees, Halifax Stanfield International Airport is a smoke-free environment and complies with federal and provincial legislation. This means that you may not smoke anywhere within the terminal building (including e-cigarettes). There are designated areas outside the terminal building. For more information visit the provincial department of Health Promotion and Protection web site.
Cannabis use is prohibited on airport property. This includes the areas outside the terminal building designated for tobacco smoking.
Pets and Animals
Pets at the airport can be a distraction to dogs working for Halifax Regional Police or for Canada Customs. Therefore, only service animals are permitted in the terminal building at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, which includes guide and service dogs accompanying passengers and visitors. Pets being transported must be kept in airline-approved kennels while in the terminal building. For information on transporting your pet, please check with your airline.
