The Canada Border Services Agency (CSBA) provides a full range of services at Canada’s international borders and airports. Customs officers are responsible for making sure both travellers and commercial goods meet all necessary criteria for entry into Canada. They also monitor and control the importation of firearms, drugs, and other goods.
Primary Inspection Kiosks
The Government of Canada is modernizing the border process for air travellers. On select flights, travellers will no longer be completing a paper declaration card.
Upon arrival at Halifax Stanfield International Airport (from outside of Canada), travellers will use a Primary Inspection Kiosk to scan their travel document, take their photo and complete an on-screen declaration.
Those looking to save more time can complete their declaration in advance using the CanBorder – eDeclaration mobile app, and scan their quick response (QR) code at a kiosk upon arrival. Click here to download the app.
Primary Inspection Kiosks are improving border security while reducing wait times and providing faster service at Canada’s busiest airports.
