We are governed by a Board consisting of a maximum of 14 directors nominated by the Government of Canada (2), the Province of Nova Scotia (1), Halifax Regional Municipality (4), Halifax Chamber of Commerce (3), and HIAA’s Board of Directors (4). Directors serve terms of up to three years and are eligible for re-election to a maximum of nine years. However, at any given time, by a vote of the Board, one director’s term can be extended for three years, to a maximum total of 12 years
