Building on the growing connections between Halifax and Europe, Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) is thrilled to welcome WestJet’s new non-stop service between Halifax Stanfield International Airport (Halifax Stanfield) and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, beginning this summer. This new service links Atlantic Canada directly to Amsterdam, one of Europe’s most dynamic cultural hubs.

“We are delighted to welcome WestJet’s new Halifax – Amsterdam service, which reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding global connectivity and providing more travel options for our community,” said Marie Manning, Vice President, Business Development & Chief Commercial Officer, HIAA. “This service is not just a link between cities but a connection between cultures, fostering economic growth and tourism in both regions.”

The summer seasonal service, set to begin May 29, will operate up to six times a week. The new transatlantic flights are scheduled to provide convenient travel options for both business and leisure travellers and enhance connectivity between Atlantic Canada and Europe.

This non-stop route will facilitate increased tourism and business, inviting European visitors to experience Atlantic Canada’s rich heritage and natural beauty. For Nova Scotians and other Atlantic Canadians, the service provides a gateway to the Netherlands and onward connections to other major European destinations.

“WestJet’s new service between Halifax and Amsterdam opens countless doors for record growth across Atlantic Canada through vital investment that will greatly expand the region’s tourism and economic opportunities,” said Jared Mikoch-Gerke, Director of Alliances and Airport Affairs, WestJet. “We’re excited to see the stories that will unfold as travellers from both regions connect and discover the unique charm of these vibrant cities.”

The city of Amsterdam offers a unique blend of historic charm and contemporary culture. Visitors can explore notable landmarks such as the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Rijksmuseum. The city’s iconic canals offer picturesque scenes ideal for boat cruises, walking tours, and cycling.

In addition to the Amsterdam route, this summer season, WestJet will continue to offer non-stop flights to Dublin, Edinburgh, and London-Gatwick and resume non-stop service to Paris. For booking and further details, please visit www.westjet.ca.
