What Our Volunteers Do

Every day is different, and that’s the fun of it.

  • Wayfinding & information: Be the friendly guide who helps travellers find their check-in area or airline, gates, washrooms, baggage claim, transportation, shops, restaurants, and other airport services.
  • Accessibility support: Provide clear, patient guidance and connect travellers to accessibility programs like Curbside Assistance, Familiarization Tours, Autism Aviators, and the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.
  • Customer care: Offer reassurance to nervous travellers, lend a hand to families juggling luggage, or simply brighten someone’s day.
  • Events: Support community and special events that showcase our airport.

Therapy Dog Program

We are proud to partner with St. John Ambulance Nova Scotia on the volunteer Therapy Dog Program, which sees furry friends and their handlers spend time at the airport.

Since the program’s inception in 2015, it has brought smiles, stress relief, and comfort to thousands of passengers, employees and visitors. The pets and volunteers are an essential part of our community.
