    Joyce Carter, President & CEO of Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA), has been named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs for the second year in a row by Atlantic Business Magazine.

    “As President and CEO, I’m humbled to represent the dedicated people of Halifax Stanfield,” says Joyce Carter. “I’m continuously inspired by the devoted employees and volunteers of the airport community. We’re steadfastly progressing in passenger and cargo activity, thereby enhancing tourism, trade, investment and immigration – proof that connecting means the world.”

    Ms. Carter began her career at HIAA as Vice President, Finance in 1999. She became Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2006, Chief Strategy Officer in 2008 in addition to her CFO role, and President & CEO in 2014.

    As a graduate of Saint Mary’s University and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia, Ms. Carter was awarded the prestigious designation of Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) in 2012. She obtained the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) designation in 2015.

    Ms. Carter is a board member of the Airports Council International (ACI) World Governing Board and the Canadian Airports Council, and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Atlantic Canada Airports Association. She also proudly serves as a member of Dalhousie University’s Board of Governors, and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Waterfront Development Corporation Ltd.
