Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to monitor developments related to the spread of the virus. The health and safety of our passengers, visitors, and employees is our top priority. We continue to stay in close contact with federal and provincial public health officials to ensure we can share the latest updates as available.

Departure Testing

Switch Health has a COVID-19 test clinic at Halifax Stanfield for travellers who require departure testing as part of the air travel process or border entry requirements.

The Switch Health clinic is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are located next to Clearwater on the main level.

The clinic offers rapid antigen and PCR testing. Travellers should research their destination’s border entry testing requirements well in advance to ensure they take the proper test.

Appointments can be booked by clicking here. Appointments must be booked in advance and testing can take up to 10-15 minutes per appointment.

Test Costs and Results:

Rapid Antigen COVID-19 test results (available in 30 to 45 minutes) – $75.00 + HST

PCR test results (available in 1 to 2 days) – $160.00 + HST

Air service at Halifax Stanfield has been significantly reduced due to the pandemic. For the latest information about flights, bookings, or return to service, please contact your airline directly.

Stay Healthy

Everyone has a role to play to protect themselves and those around them by following public health protocols. The following measures are in place at the airport:


We have increased the extent and frequency of cleaning at the airport. We’ve ramped up the cleaning and sanitization of high-traffic areas, washrooms, and common touchpoints. We’ve hired additional cleaning staff to ensure this is done at the highest efficiency, and ultimately to create a healthier and safer airport environment for all.

Parking & Transportation

The terminal parkade, exterior parking lot and Park’N Fly are open.

Masks are mandatory when using public transportation in Nova Scotia. This includes the Halifax Transit #320 Bus, airport car services (taxis and limos), and airport shuttles. 

Taxis continue to be available as a method of transportation for travellers.
