    How it Works:
    1. Book your spot before your flight or when you arrive at the airport.
    2. Select the airline you’re flying with, destination, and flight number along with your name, number of people in your group, and contact information to save your spot.
    3. Once you’re at the airport, your time is yours! Check your bags, grab some coffee, spend more time with loved ones, or just walk up at your reservation time.
    4. Proceed to domestic/international security screening and enter the YHZ Express checkpoint.
    5. Present your QR code for entry and you’re ready to go through security screening!

    What is YHZ Express? How does it work?

    YHZ Express is an online reservation system for security screening to better manage line lengths and wait times. YHZ Express is available during specific hours for all departing travellers. All you need to do to enjoy an expedited security wait time experience is reserve your spot.

    How do I use YHZ Express?

    You can book appointments up to 48 hours before you leave. For domestic flights, the earliest appointment time is 3 hours before departure, and for international flights, it’s 4 hours. The latest time available to book is 1 hour before your scheduled departure.

    Alternatively, you can sign up on arrival if space is available. Your reservation confirmation will issue a QR code that you will present at the YHZ Express checkpoint.

    Help! I’m not seeing my flight as an option on YHZ Express.

    Make sure to check that the time, date, airline, and flight number are all correct when signing up for your reservation. YHZ Express is available for domestic and international departures but does not include direct flights to the United States or certain Sun flights at this time.

    Which airlines and security checkpoints are participating in the YHZ Express program?

    YHZ Express is available for all domestic, and international departures, except for direct to U.S. flights and certain Sun flights at this time.

    What times can I use YHZ Express?

    The YHZ Express checkpoint operates from 6 am to 6 pm, for travellers to access their designated spot in the security screening line and present their QR code to the gate agent.

    There are plans to install automated entry gates, which will expand the operating hours and the available booking times for passengers.

    I’m connecting at YHZ, do I need to use YHZ Express?

    YHZ Express is optional for departing travellers. Connecting passengers who leave the secure area of the terminal and therefore must re-enter the departures area through CATSA security screening are welcome to use the program.

    Can I use YHZ Express if I am a Verified Traveller?

    No. Verified Travellers, including NEXUS cardholders, can use the designated Verified Traveller line. YHZ Express is not intended to be used by passengers who are eligible for the Verified Traveller program, as the YHZ Express program does not provide the same benefits.

    Is YHZ Express free?

    Yes, it’s completely free for all passengers! There is no account or membership required to use YHZ Express.

    I want to sign up for YHZ Express, but the reservation times are unavailable. What do I do?

    We regret there are limited times available and are working to increase availability. YHZ Express has limited spots and due to high traveller volumes and demand, we recommend reserving your time as early as possible.

    I didn’t make a reservation in advance. Can I still use YHZ Express?

    Yes, if space is still available. When you arrive at the airport, you will see YHZ Express signs featuring a QR code that you can scan on your smartphone to make a reservation.

    What’s the grace period for my YHZ Express reservation?

    You can arrive up to 5 minutes before or after your scheduled reservation time. If you miss your appointment time, you may be asked to reschedule based on availability or to enter security screening through other lanes.

    I’m travelling as part of a group. Can we book YHZ Express together?

    Yes! Travellers may book on behalf of the others in their group. The maximum group size eligible to enter under one appointment is 5 passengers. All passengers would need to arrive together for the appointment and sharing of QR codes is not allowed.

    What information is required to book YHZ Express?

    There is no account registration or login required! Travellers using the service will be asked to select the date of departure, destination airport, airline, flight number and group size. Lastly, you’ll be asked to provide an email to receive the reservation confirmation with the QR code as an attachment.

    I didn’t receive a confirmation email for my YHZ Express reservation. What do I do?

    Make sure your email is typed correctly, and check your inbox’s junk or spam folders, just in case. If you’re still unable to find your reservation information after registering, you can sign up again for another spot.
